World Age Group Competition kicks off with 11-16 Age Group

Qualifications have ended for the World Age Group Competition in Acrobatic Gymnastics in the 11-16 age group in Putian, China.

On day 1 Great Britain’s Jessica Gledhill and Olivia Procter qualified in 1st for the finals followed by ALexandra Edwards and Morgan Price of the USA and Viktoria Mukina and Polina Ovsyannikova of Russia. Portugal, Belgium, Germany, Israel and Canada also qualified pairs for the finals. In Women’s groups Russia took the lead with Anastasia Bykova, Ekaterina Sergeeva and Elizaveta Sergeeva scoring 56.100 points ahead of Belgium’s 55.500 and the 55.450 that the Netherlands achieved to take the third place.

On Thursday morning mixed pairs finished their qualification rounds with Anatoly Slivkov and Elena Kovalenko scoring 56.250, followed by Jordan Franklin and Ella Hanna Sanz of Great Britain. Russia also took first place in men’s pairs and men’s groups. The host, China, will only have the men’s group in the finals.
